This was the first of four telefeatures that started the Hercules "hour" series and spawned the Xena series, featuring Lucy Lawless, seen first in this telefeature.
Hercules is pursued by his implacable enemy, his stepmother Hera, who uses many supernatural disguises to try and destroy Hercules as he comes to the aid of a village besieged by mysterious, unseen monsters. Taken captive, tortured and threatened with death, Hercules fall under the spell of their queen, Hippolyta. It would seem that Hercules has fallen into a deadly trap that threatend to engulf and destroy him. Don't expect much more than swords, special effects and wonderful New Zealand scenery from this.
