This film is the first puppet-creature film made for an adult audience. On its release Peter Jackson warned, "It's a nasty little piece of work, this one, and people should know that". Suffice to say, this is the lowdown and dirty of the puppet world. "The Feebles" are a travelling variety troupe, the members and managers of which deal and do drugs, make porno movies and waste those who irritate them. A big "cult" hit, but borderline X rated.

AVAILABILITY OF VHS OR DVD COPIES

Used NTSC VHS copies can be found in the U.S. or Canada selling for about $10us. PAL copies are available from the UK for about 5#. R1 DVDs are about $20us. R2 PAL are selling for about 10# . R0 PAL copies can be purchased from New Zealand sources for $30nz. An R4 version is available from Australian sources for $25au. It is presented 1.33:1 with 2.0 dolby digital surround audio. The only extras are trailers. Most of the R2 versions have some subtitles in other than English.
NOTE: There is a Norwegian R2 PAL 4-disc set, "The Peter Jackson Boxset", which contains Bad Taste, Meet the Feebles, Braindead and Forgotten Silver. All have their original English soundtrack, plus optional Swedish, Danish, Finnish and Norgegian subtitles. New sets been spotted at ebay selling for about 20# from UK sources.
