Yes, this is a sequel to ONCE WERE WARRIORS, but this script can stand alone. Five years have passed and Jake has turned his back on his family. He is still up to his drinking and fighting at bars. Now his eldest son has died in a gang fight, and an uncomfortable "family reunion" at the funeral sets off number two son, Sonny, with he and Jake taking off on each other. Now it is Sonny being drawn into gang life, but this time Jake is beginning a journey of change to responsibility. Recommended.
