Kylie is forced to return to the house she grew up in when the court places her on home detention. Her punishment is made all the more unbearable by the fact she has to live there with her mother - a well-intentioned blabbermouth who's convinced that the house is haunted. Kylie dismisses Miriam's superstitions, however when she too hears unsettling whispers & strange bumps in the night, she begins to wonder whether she's inherited her mother's imagination, or if the house is in fact possessed. A horror story this may be called but this is not a ghost story. I suspect that folks looking for a Peter Jackson style "horror comedy" will be disappointed - I found it a bit weak as either a comedy or a horror film. It has its tense moments, but little that will make you scream or even jump. I would call this a murder mystery with comedic elements. Censor Rating: MA 15 - Review Rating: B- Official MP4 Trailer |
