Fed up with the materialism of Christmas, Santa runs away to New Zealand for a summer holiday. When his reindeerless-sleigh crashes and sinks in the waters off an idyllic holiday beach, he is found washed up by 8-year-old Sam and his 12-year-old sister Molly and their newly separated parents. The family discovers who Santa really is and decide they must unite to rescue him from the local Coastwatch who have set out to capture him. I found this family friendly flick quite enjoyable. It's comedy is largely of the slapstick variety, but generally well done, especially for a low budget effort. Recommended for light fare.
