Misha, with his wife Nadia, arrives in what he thinks is film-friendly New Zealand to pursue his experimental filmmaking. But they soon discover that it is not as he hoped. His wife pleads with him to find work, but Misha withdraws into himself and gradually descending into madness. Nadia, in desperation, finds work as a stripper which only drives Misha further downhill and drives Nadia to move out. A chance encounter with a Polynesian woman draws Misha from his self-destructive bent and allows him to reconnect with the real world. This commendable effort was filmed in the Auckland, Takapuna, North Shore and Waitakere areas. Recommended.
