Alice lives in the suburbs of a South Island town. She would rather be living on Route 66, as she imagines it from her film and TV images. Joined by her best friend Johnny, they cruise the highways, looking for the kind of trouble Hollywood has taught them to expect. They find it in Seth, a hunky American "cowboy" with snakeskin boots, some acid, and a trail of enemies who provide an adventure that may be a bit more than Alice expected. This is not the road movie of 'Goodbye Pork Pie'.
